UT Southwestern Medical Center introduces a 3-tier risk system for pediatric tracheostomy

Can pediatric tracheostomy outcomes be more accurately stratified using a procedure-specific risk model? A new study in JAMA Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery, co-authored by UT Southwestern researchers, introduces a three-tier risk system that outperforms general severity measures and may offer a more meaningful way to evaluate outcomes and resource needs.
